Schools have been transformed by the introduction of the Signs for Success programme.

 

Signs for Success:

 

  • Assists staff development through the acquisition of another skill.
  • Informs and adds to the curriculum, allowing pupils the opportunity to "see" concepts through sign.
  • Helps schools reach standardised attainment targets.
  • Encourages staff cohesiveness.
  • Provides classroom assistants with a specific role.
  • Actively promotes the ethos of inclusion.
  • Modifies children’s behaviour and instils an atmosphere of learning.
  • Raises Deaf awareness amongst staff and children.
  • Provides an opportunity to "pull in" hard-to-reach parents.
  • Offers something extra, special and different to teachers, children and parents.
