Children with behaviour problems take to signing in a way that surprises teachers. When signing is used as part of the curriculum, children participate in the learning process more actively. They’re less inclined to be distracted. Signing gives them something of their own, a sense of their own power. Signing involves them. The children recognise and feel its inherent intelligence. With sign, every child achieves greater levels of learning.

Signing is powerful way to maintain peace in the classroom:

  • Help you maintain peace and calm in the classroom.
  • Encourage children to Look, Listen and Learn.
  • Gain children's co-operation and participation.
  • Instil self-discipline in children.
  • Decrease distractions.
  • Create an atmosphere where children can concentrate.
  • Create a sense of "we're in this together" in the classroom.
  • Reduce the noise level in the classroom.
  • Enforce a "uniform" code of practice.
  • Create an atmosphere of learning.
  • Encourage positive interaction.
  • Make children feel good about themselves.
